Tobias Becker studied Fine Arts at “Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee" and “Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design” in Jerusalem. In his video works he focused on representations of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Furthermore, he studied Visual and Media Anthropology at "Freie Universität Berlin" researching on imagination and emplacement in the French Pyrenees. 
Becker worked as stage designer in theater for five years, e.g. at “Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar” as well as “Ruhrtriennale” 2009 and 2010. He was staff member in diverse artistic film productions and the organisation of exhibitions, such as Zeigen. An Audiotour through Berlin by Karin Sander for the "Temporäre Kunsthalle Berlin" in 2009.
