Ethnographic Film Series

We are happy to present as part of the Ethnographic Film Series M.A. Visual and Media Anthropology two recently finished Master Films from our program.
Tuesday July 19th at 4:30 PM
in Cinema MOVIEMENTO (Kottbusser Damm 22, Berlin)

“The Girls From Sitapur” by Marie-Claire Frederich, 43 min.
The film is a collaborative project with a girl gang from India.
The material, in most parts filmed by three young Indian girls, provides
an insight into their daily lives, into Indian tradition and its
festivities.
“The inner Kamchatka” by Kay Möppert 32 min.
The film "The Inner Kamchatka" is a portray about a young woman who seeks
for a change in her life. She looks out for a simple life, a working
relationship, her own family - something that she couldn't see in Berlin.
But the Russian East not only contains material for romantic dreams but also
harsh climate, tough living conditions and cultural antagonisms that may
destroy such dreams.
