Detalle

Nationality: British and Belgian

My current interests lie in understanding audio-visual material as a constituent form of our culture. Undertaking a media archaeology where the past comes to represent a space of possibilities, such a strategy is rooted in a manipulative questioning of the archive—or more recently, the database. An appropriative and subversive act that seeks to go beyond the two-dimensional pixelated surface of the image, it has for aim to allude to the fissures within contemporary historical discourses.
With an interest that lies on the borders of art theory, historical criticism and anthropological discourse, my work seeks out the tensions between forms of representation, media and knowledge production.  In a world abundant with images, what I find of interest is how one may still tell a personal story.
